Tuition
and Related Costs
- Tuition for The Fashion School is the same as tuition to Kent State University
and this varies by residency and by the number of credits being
taken.
- Other costs that
must be considered for majors in Fashion Design:
- Art and sewing
supplies are needed; the initial investment is large but these
items are retained and used throughout the program.
- Fabric and other
materials needed for the senior line are special budgetary
considerations.
- The internship
costs need to be considered. Often (not
always) the best internships are in a major metropolitan
area such as New York and the cost of living there for a summer
may be higher than living on campus. Keep in mind that internships
may not pay at all or may pay very little.
- Study tours to
New York are provided every semester. Plan to budget for one
of these during the four years here.
- Study abroad
in the junior year is particularly recommended so budgetary
planning for this is needed.
- Other costs that
must be considered for majors in Fashion Merchandising:
- Books are the
major class costs on a semester basis.
- Most internships
are paid and many are available near the student's home, but if
you want to be in a major metropolitan area then planning
to cover the cost of living is important.
